Collection consists largely of clippings with other historical notes, transcripts of records, correspondence, pamphlets, and programs collected by Nearpass on the history of Port Jervis and the Minisink Valley. Subjects include business and industry, factories, trade associations, railroads, Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, social movements, political movements, churches, schools, farming, canals, rafting, public works, and recreation. The materials were organized and the clippings transcribed by a Works Progress Administration local history project in 1936.
